Making Magnesium Oil Yourself – or Buying It Ready-Made?

Magnesium oil has just two ingredients: magnesium chloride and water. So in principle you can mix it yourself. Here’s how – and what speaks for the ready-made version.
What you need
- 100 g magnesium chloride flakes (hexahydrate)
- 100 ml distilled water
- a clean glass bottle with a spray head
Instructions
- Warm the water, but don’t let it boil.
- Stir in the flakes until they have completely dissolved.
- Let it cool and pour it into the spray bottle.
Store homemade magnesium oil somewhere cool and use it up within a few weeks. Use clean utensils and distilled water.
When is ready-made magnesium oil worth it?
- Consistent concentration: With homemade oil, the content varies depending on the flakes and the amount of water. Our magnesium oil always contains 105 mg of magnesium per ml.
- Origin: Not all flakes state their source. Our magnesium chloride comes from the Zechstein deposit.
- Convenience: No weighing, no dissolving – straight in a glass bottle with a spray head.
If you want to refill, the 1-litre bottle is the best value per litre. To get started, the 200 ml spray is a good choice.
